Abstract

The main objective of interlaboratory comparisons is to evaluate the degree of equivalence between the pilot laboratory and the participating laboratories. In this way it is possible to validate calibration methods, detect opportunities for improvement and make corrections in the measurement systems, among other topics. In the year 2024, during the months of March to August, the first interlaboratory comparison in calibration of relative humidity metrics was carried out in Panama, organized and piloted by the National Metrology Center of Panama (CENAMEP AIP) in the range of 30 to 90 % RH with a reference temperature of 20 °C. Three secondary laboratories in the country and two technicians in training from the Relative Humidity Laboratory (H0) of CENAMEP AIP
participated in this intercomparison exercise. For the analysis of the results, the statistical tool of the normalized error was used, which determined that approximately 85 % of the measurements were satisfactory, indicating a good level of agreement between the obtained results and the reference values. This exercise made it possible to implement timely corrective and preventive actions and to reinforce the credibility of the participants with clients, regulatory agencies and other interested parties.
